A short, honest account of how Scullery uses cookies, and how you can control them.

This is the cookie policy for Scullery, a recipe organizer and kitchen decision app. Scullery is in beta. We keep cookies to a minimum, we do not use them to track you across other websites, and we do not sell your data.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small piece of data a site stores in your browser. Some cookies are strictly necessary for the app to work. Others are optional. Scullery uses both kinds, kept deliberately small.
Essential cookies (always on)
These keep you signed in and your account secure. They are set by Scullery itself, only on the app at app.scullery.online, and the app cannot work without them. You cannot turn these off and still stay signed in, because they are what signing in means.
We use these for your login session (so you stay signed in as you move between pages) and for security (for example, protecting the sign-in flow). Sign-in runs on our own servers, and your session data stays with us. Session cookies expire on their own, and signing out clears your session. We do not use these cookies to build an advertising profile or to follow you to other sites.
Analytics and anonymous source-link counts
On our public marketing pages, and on the account pages (sign-up, sign-in, and the page that confirms a new account), we use Umami, a privacy-first analytics tool we host on our own servers, to understand which pages and links people find useful. Umami is cookieless, so it does not set analytics cookies or build a profile of you, and the data never leaves our own infrastructure. We do not run Umami on your cookbook, shopping list, plan, or cook pages, and we do not send your name, email, or recipe content to it. When you follow a link to a recipe's original source, we count that click anonymously. We record the destination site and which recipe, never who clicked. This count does not use a cookie.
No third-party tracking or advertising cookies
Scullery does not run advertising networks, marketing pixels, or cross-site trackers. We have no Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, and no session-replay tools. There is nothing here designed to follow you around the web.
How to control cookies
Because we use only an essential login session plus cookieless measurement, there is no consent banner to dismiss and no hidden settings to undo. We would rather be plainly minimal than ask you to opt out of things we do not do.
You can clear or block cookies at any time in your browser settings, and you can sign out to end your session. If you block the essential cookies, you will not be able to stay signed in to the app. As Scullery grows we will update this page before adding anything new, and we will not quietly switch on tracking.
