An Idea is not a dead end. You can return to its source, keep it in a loose plan as source context, or record that you made it from the source. None of those actions silently invents ingredients or turns the clipping into a recipe.
When you want structured ingredients, shopping, and cook mode, turn the Idea into a recipe draft and finish the missing parts. The original clipping remains unless you choose to archive it.
